There a new post again, its been a while and not for no reason: busy days those last days with the group and the travel schedule…For those who didn’t know so far, I did not get my second group here in Canada- sad but true- there were too little people for a second bus so that would make it too crowded if they had to fit me in the one bus that will take off next Monday….and yesterday I finished with my first group, which has been a great experience, we had a fantastic trip all together, some ups and downs but as far as I can say it was a good group. Right now I am sitting in Laura’s new apartment, in Long Beach (California, USA) Laura recently moved here and we wanted to catch up for a long time, well here she is sitting in front of her house with her dog Jackie. Left Vancouver this morning at 07.30 and got to Los Angeles at 12.30 (with a connection in San Francisco) and wish I had more time to look around in San Fran, it seems a very nice surrounding… Arrived round three (this afternoon) in Long Beach, by rental car, which was a new experience…driving in Los Angeles is not the easiest after all the peace and rest in Canada.. I will stay here for a few days, till next Tuesday and hope to return to Vancouver just as easy as getting here. My car btw is a very cool car…check this: Usa and Canada, I can say that there is still quite a difference but it has changed a lot in the last 10 years, Canada seems to get more and more American. (don’t tell them!) but once off the road, on or round the waters, I was amazed again at it’s beauty, saw marvelous things, had a close look at (one) bear and saw some elks, walked on an impressive glacier at the Columbia Icefield, saw great and impressive mountains, many different waterfalls, went whale watching in Vicoria and saw many Orca’s (aka Killer Whales) and very curious seals, a few white headed eagles. People are still amazingly friendly, happy to question always where you are from…although very often they don’t hear the Dutch accent and speak very rapid…if you then ask them to slow down they seem to be surpised…
